Social procurement information and engagement sessions

Join the conversation on how the City of Peterborough can use social procurement to leverage its existing purchasing activities to contribute to the success of the community’s economic, environmental and social goals.

You can use this form to sign up for one of the two information and engagement sessions being held by the City and Buy Social Canada, a social enterprise that has been contracted to consult on the possibilities for social procurement in Peterborough.

Participants can attend online or by phone.

Social procurement can help shape an inclusive, vibrant, and healthy community. Social procurement can create new revenue streams for local businesses and social enterprises, leverage local know-how and assets, and facilitate new ways of working together for community benefit.

Participants are asked to download the latest version of Zoom and arrive a few minutes early.

The information and engagement sessions will include an introduction on social procurement, conversations with local businesses and social enterprise suppliers, and hearing from the community.

In March 2020, City Council approved a motion to consider the possibilities for social procurement and to report back to Council.
