Notification to remove a tree on Private Property

Important Notices:

  1. Anyone who wants to remove a tree or trees on private property, if the tree has a diameter of at least 7.5 centimetres at breast height, must give the City at least 72 hours written notice before removing the tree.
  2. The 72 hours will start once this notification form has been submitted, and you have recieved your confirmation email. You must provide a valid email address to receive a confirmation email that your notice has been submitted.
  3. The details for each tree being removed must be entered on this form by using the Add Additional Tree button.
  4. Both owners must submit notification for tree removal if the trunk of the tree is growing on the boundary between adjoing properties.

City-owned trees are protected from injury or destruction by By-law 1982-82 and Chapter 765 of the Municipal Code. Before commencing any removals it is the applicants responsibility to confirm tree Ownership.
